—————–

Good Morning,

I hope you’re well.

We have a very special evening event coming up with one the biggest technology companies in the world; IBM.

On Wednesday 13 October, 5:00pm – 6:00pm we’ll be hosting an evening event with some of the world’s top Business & Technology professionals. This is their first event of the new academic year and they don’t come around very often. Come and join us to hear all about what it’s like working for one of the world’s largest tech companies.

It’s open to all Y11 /  Y12 / Y13

At IBM, work is more than a job — it’s a calling. To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you’ve never thought possible. To lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world’s most challenging problems.

Hear about some of the exciting projects they are working on as well as their school leaver opportunities, insight days and gap year placements.

If you’d like to apply to this event to find out more, please click on the application link below.

Curation of C25 / Year 10 Spanish Final Product

The latest addition to Final Products created by Spanish students is on proud and prominent display on the upper corridor of XP East School’s top floor and XP School’s ground floor. The image is a composite representation of students’ digital or manual artwork, in answer to the guiding question: “¿Está el comercio justo en un mundo lejano?” (“Is trade fair in a distant world?”). In addition to building background knowledge about the wider Spanish-speaking world, our C25 / Year 10 students explored themes around social equity, whilst using the Spanish imperative to encourage fair trade practices linked to future benefits.

Mindful Monday

It was Crew Obama’s turn this week to take on some Monday morning litter picking duties. The weather was rather dull and overcast but at least we weren’t rained on! Pupils found a surprising amount of rubbish which may have blown onto the school site from elsewhere such as KFC chip cartons, but there were no complaints about clearing up after others. I was really impressed by the tenacity and determination of some Crew members to collect old items which had likely been hidden in the hedges until the leaves dropped.

Please check the school’s homepage to see the lost property for this week. Remember to claim what belongs to you!
