Reminder- Extra curricular clubs

This coming week we are running two fantastic clubs for our students to take part in!

These clubs are for both experienced players and newcomers who just want to try these sports for the first time.

Cricket- Mondays- 3:30 till 4:30

Rounders- Wednesdays- 3:30 till 4:30

Students are to meet at the changing rooms with full kit.

After great recent results we are coming to the business end of the school football fixtures:

The week commencing the 9th of May we have Y7, Y8 and Y10 matches in an exciting week for XP sport.

Tuesday 10th May- Y8 away Vs Astrea Academy     

Wednesday 11th – Y7 away Vs Don Valley Academy 

                               Y10 at home Vs Don Valley Academy 

Teams sheets are out on the PE notice board now, please tick your name if available.

Students are to meet at the changing rooms at 3:15

Home teams (Y10) to be picked up at XP at 5:00pm

Away teams (Y7&8) to be picked up at XP at 5:00pm

Leaping into the future

On Tuesday 3rd May students from BTEC Sport got the opportunity to visit Loughborough University. We took part in some coaching sessions in the morning ran by the staff and students at the University. In the afternoon we had a walk around campus and were able to ask questions about student life at the University.

Students were fantastic and it was great to see them embracing the day.

Crew’s Grappling Start

The start of this term has been quite tough and we have had to grapple. We have really had to work hard and focus on how we can support ourselves and each other academically. 

Crew have been working on their pledges for the up and coming academic data snapshot and taking the time to understand what efforts and changes they need to focus on to improve going forward. 

Fun – always time for fun!

We make a conscious effort to incorporate fun into sessions and Crew love a game of dodgeball (ok not all of us). 

Here we are buddying up with the rest of the E27 cohort enjoying/avoiding dodgeball.

We even had time for a walk to lakeside

E-safety

We have had a real focus on e-safety in our Wise Wednesday sessions. Developing our understanding of digital footprints and what it looks and sounds like to be kind on social media. 

Our learning targets for this were: I can discuss the impact of my actions on Social Media apps on myself and others and I can identify how to be Kind on Social Media.

It is really important that students understand how the world web works and the impact of social media can have positively and negatively.

HoWLs tracker for all!

This term we are dedicated to improving and monitoring our HoWLs. Here we are working together to understand what our HoWLs mean and our understanding of them. Each week students will assess their performance and then log their own HoWLs. We can then view this week by week and have discussions where appropriate, praising and challenging the data we see as a crew.

E25 Spanish GCSE Product ‘Los medios”

Last term Year 10 worked hard to produce a product talking all about their family, freetime, and device preferences. They could take on a role with a fictional family, or describe their actual family, and redrafted to produce beautiful Spanish. XP school produced this for XPE Year 10, and vice versa. Take a look, and a listen, to their final product.
