We would like to invite all C25 and C26 (Year 10 and Year 9) parents of students selected for the Madrid 2022 visit to a short information meeting, to be held on Wednesday 6th October 2021 from 5.00 – 5.30 in the heart-of-the-school (large steps) in XP School. Alternatively, parents may join this meeting remotely, via Google Meet if they would prefer, and a link will be shared in due course.
It will provide an opportunity for you to ask any clarifying questions about our visit, and for us to provide a copy of the payment schedule and also our travel company’s terms and conditions.
For those parents that wish to attend in person we would respectfully request that they observe social distancing guidance and wear a suitable facial covering unless they have an exemption.
E27 Fieldwork Thursday 7th October- Postponed until further notice
URGENT: Unfortunately due to a coach driver shortage across all coach companies in our area, our fieldwork to the Museum of Liverpool and International Slavery Museum will not go ahead next week (Tuesday 5th October X27 and Thursday 7th October E27). You should arrive at school as normal and be prepared to spend the day in lessons and eat lunch as usual.
We are trying our best to plan another date to visit. We will let you know our new date for fieldwork, as soon as we can.
Thanks for your understanding.
Even MORE Beautiful Work from E25!
This time, the beautiful work has come from E25 Explorer in Science!
Explorer have been working hard on understanding DNA – And these are just some examples of the Craftsmanship and Quality of learning taking place in Mr V’s classroom this morning.
This is an example of a quality diagram from Kris of a DNA Nucleotide – a building block of our DNA.

And some beautiful examples of the double helix that DNA molecules form, from Lucie, Billy, Faith, Lewis and Caiden !
Keep up the fantastic work!!

Instrumental Music Lessons
The Autumn term instrumental lessons will be in full swing by next week for those students who signed up at the end of last year. Most students have received their lessons this week. Any students that didn’t get started this week will be scheduled to start next week.
Payment for these lessons will be set up on ParentPay asap and this term’s invoice will need to be settled before October half term.
Drum lessons specifically will NOT start until after October half term due to Mr West (drum teacher) being on a UK tour with Sir Cliff Richard! Students will still get the correct amount of lessons from him for this term when he returns to us.

Any questions can be directed towards either Mr Jackson or Mr Robins. Just drop us an email if you need any further info.
New students who would like to start lessons in the near future will receive a letter later this term and have the chance to start in January 2022.

Beautiful Work in E25!
I’ve been SUPER impressed with E25 since I’ve worked with them this year! The quality of work being produced is astounding – both in sessions, and outside of the classroom too!
Check out some examples below from Denim in History, and Mollie and Fin in maths, demonstrating excellent Craftsmanship & Quality across subjects.
I’ve also experienced a wonderful gallery walk – Miss Cross transported us to the silent floor of Brumley Museum – some great silent conversations, excellent notices, questions, and wonders!
And finally, I wanted to highlight a beautiful piece of work from Jess R. Jess has been working on this in her own time, as horses are a big interest – but look at the detail on this artwork. Phenomenal – excellent work Jess!!!!

Keep it up, year 10 – I look forward to seeing what you achieve this year!

Wednesday afternoon: Planting Oak saplings
Yesterday afternoon myself and a few students, Charlie, Marcus and Lewis planted some oak saplings donated by Martin, our school cook.
We planted them at the back edge of the field behind XP East. We will have to keep them regularly watered as the earth is very dry after the summer.
The digging was quite difficult so when we’d finished we went into the student kitchen for some well earned toast and jam.

Lost Property at XP East
There are quite a few items in our stockpile of lost property at XP East. I suspect most of it has come back from Y8’s Outward Bound adventure! Could you please have a look to see if you recognise anything and send your child to collect by Friday 24th September.
Any items that haven’t been collected by then will be donated to charity or disposed of appropriately.
