Our E27 / Y9 GCSE Spanish students have got off to a flying start this year. I would like to appreciate their high levels of engagement and productivity in focused pair work as they practise how to express opinions of TV shows in their foreign language sessions.
C29 have had a brilliant day delving into the wonders of number at @bletchleypark. We’re due to arrive back to school at 5:20pm. Students can be collected from Car Park 3 when we arrive.
Good evening, as a school we are delighted to have the opportunity to secure tickets for our students and parents for the upcoming Rugby World Cup matches at the ECO-Power Stadium on Monday the 17th and Monday the 31st of October.
On the google form below you can fill out the how many tickets you would like and the cost of each the tickets. Tickets will be charged to the parent pay accounts. For those ordering ticket you will be contacted about payment from the week commencing the 19th of September.
Please note that this is not school led fieldwork. If you purchase tickets, it is your responsibility to get to and from the stadium.
Here at XP we are always looking for our students to achieve and strive for amazing things and we are lucky to have some very successful student athletes, no other than C28’s Sophia Hunter of Crew Boseman.
Sophia is a golfer who spends most of her free time practicing and playing in tournaments around south Yorkshire and she has been competing all summer. Recently, at the Peter Cowen Gold Academy Awards night, Sophia picked up 6 trophies which means Sophia is the current leader for the over 12’s tour.
The Crew and whole school are incredibly proud of Sophia and look forward to hearing of more success in the future.
Year 11 have been thrown straight back into it in history – we’ve started our new history unit ‘The People’s Health’ that is a thematic study focusing on how factors such as beliefs, technology, government, wealth and poverty impacted public health from 1250-present day. I’ve been so impressed with Pioneer – particularly in our lessons this week as they have been so focused and motivated to do well. It seems like everyone has their eye on the end of the year and there is definitely an atmosphere of determination and motivation to do well – I’m pleased that they are taking everything in their stride whether it is the mountain of content and knowledge they need to learn or practising their exam technique each lesson, it is all attacked with hard work and a maturity that seems to have developed over the summer.
It’s been wonderful to watch your personalities and academic skills grow over the years since our first lessons in year 7 and I’m sure all this hard work will pay off – and yes Charlie, I may still have my Miss Battle-Axe moments, you’ll thank me for them later!
I am absolutely thrilled with the attitude that Crew have got now they’re in year 11 – everyone is 100% focused on the end goal and working really hard in sessions to achieve the best they can! It’s been great to know that many of crew are attending after school revision sessions and I’m hearing really positive things about their conduct from teachers. Keep this momentum going – I’m so pleased with you all and you deserve to do well after all the effort you’re putting in to your education. Everyone has already got at least one praise point so far and here’s just some of the praises for Dylan, Lacey, Bob, Callum and Toby have got since the start of term:
The official date of the State Funeral for The Queen is (Monday 19th September).
This day will be a Bank Holiday and settings that are normally closed on a Bank Holiday should close on this day as a mark of respect. Therefore School will be closed to staff and children on this day.
Please be reminded that School will also be closed for the upcoming Staff Days Friday 23rd September and Monday 26th September.
Thank you for your continued support, XP East Office
As part of our continued school improvement work we are looking for parent governors to join our local governing committee. As a parent governor you will be expected to attend 3 meetings at 8am or 3pm each year (1 per term) and also conduct a governor visit each term (1-3 hours per visit). Parent governors will be given support to complete their duties in terms of training and guidance.
If you are interested in joining XP and XPE LGC please email Mrs Salter to express your interest by Friday 16th September at 3pm.
Please note: If we are overwhelmed with expressions of interest we will have to run a selection process. Thanks for your continued support
After a great start last week, Crew Anoa’i have continued to amaze me this week. I’ve heard nothing but praise for our Year 11s. Crew Anoa’i have had another fantastic week!Â
On Monday we took some time to relax and enjoy some seasonal colouring. On Tuesday we completed our ‘to do’ list full of little jobs, ensuring we were ready for the week ahead.
Wednesday was a great morning! Despite some grey clouds hanging over our heads, we went outside to take part in some team building activities, including: The Human Knot, Crossing The Line and Buzz Off. We even had a few members of Crew Turing join us. It was amazing to see everyone getting involved and having a good laugh with each other. Thank you for joining us Callum, Ralph, Lewis and Tyler!
On Thursday, we had our first Year 11 community meeting where we shared our appreciations with each other. And on Friday, we had our first whole school community meeting, the perfect opportunity to share more appreciations.Â
A special shout out to Jacob Sutton for his hard work this week. He has started Year 11 with such determination and a fire to succeed. I’m so pleased to hear so many positive comments around his work ethic and contributions in sessions. Keep up the good work, Jacob!
Crew Anoa’i are smashing it so far, let’s keep going. Here’s to next week!
