Please see the attachment from South Yorkshire Police regarding E-Scooters.
Due to this directive from the local authority and South Yorkshire Police, we are unable to allow students to store these scooters in school.
E-scooters are also not covered by insurance whilst on site and for security purposes we strongly encourage them to be left at home.
Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation with this matter.

Business as usual during staff day weekend. With GCSEs around the corner we have decided to still run D6 during the long weekend. Doors are open from 9am with sessions starting at 9.30 – 12pm. With refreshments provided and a relaxed but purposeful atmosphere, D6 is a great addition to Year 11’s build up to exam season. An opportunity to be supported by our Alumni who have been through the same process themselves. Having gained the opportunity to attend D6, these students are taking time from their own Post 16 journey to give back to our current students.
We have both staff and student coaches who can help in all subject areas, including study skills and the resources that students need to access on site. As part of the D6 core team I can highly recommend attending, having seen over the last 3 years, the progress made by students who regularly attend.
This week’s stand out student in English has to be Leoni Hughes in Explorer. The effort, resilience and focus she has applied to her assessments has been outstanding. She has clearly shown that if you work hard in sessions and listen to feedback you will succeed.
Leoni’s recent language assessment saw her achieve almost full marks in two of her questions. Overall this section of the paper would have seen her get a grade 9! You should be so proud of yourself Leoni.
So it begins, the step into our XP Journey….Passage.
We have started to prepare for Passage Presentations during Crew. For those parents who may not know the purpose of Passage here is a brief overview.
Passage presentations are an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning and their readiness to move on to the next phase of their education.
It is one mammoth task, but it is very much worth the end goal!
We are committed and I am really impressed with the engagement so far. I am really looking forward to seeing what Crew Rashford produce.
Students may be asked to complete some task at home, but don’t peek!
Look out for an invite to attend your child’s Passage around March time.
We have completed the fitness element of our Bronze DofE and now we are well on our way and doing awesome some First Aid training during our sessions.
Additionally, every fortnight we either take part in a school litter pick or lost property maintenance at school.
Students are taking this opportunity to become stewards of our community, making a blog post for students to few all the items and ensure the grounds stay free from litter. It has made a huge difference to the site, super impressive.
Really looking forward to the next part of DofE… what this space for more info!
I’d like to appreciate those students that have improved and maintained their attendance since the start of Y9. You have really stepped up!
We have the opportunity to win an amazing attendance incentive – To Win £50 to spend anyway we wish. Wouldn’t that be Awesome!
Let’s give this term a big push and move back up the league table our current position is No 11.
We can do this – Mighty Crew Rashford!
Mrs Watson 😊
We’re looking for Maths, Science, Art & Design and Humanities Teachers at XP Gateshead.

This is our community. These are our stories. Come teach and be a part of it.
The Year 8 boys football team are due back at 5:45pm. Please keep and eye on the website for any updates. Your children will call to give you an update as well. Any questions please contact Mr Stables [email protected]

On Saturday, we held our first revision session in D6 and it was a great success.
Supported by staff and student mentors from previous GCSE years, some of our Y11s came into school in order to spend time revising for their exams in the Summer.
I was particularly struck by the sense of focus and high levels of concentration on the different aspects of their studies – all on a Saturday morning!
One student explained to me ‘I’m really grateful for D6. It’s allowed me to come into school and do a few hours of revision, and then that’s me done for the weekend!’ Another one explained ‘…the quiet time has really helped me with my revision. I’ll definitely be coming every week as I can already feel the benefits.’
As a reminder, D6 (day 6) will take place every Saturday morning from 09:30 – 12:00.
