Beautiful Work This Week

Pride of Thorne Awards

This very special event has brought together nominees from across Green Top’s local community who have been recognised for their invaluable work both with and for the people of Thorne. From food banks to emergency services to care homes – all were presented awards by KS1 children at Green Top, as part of their Expedition ‘Not all superheroes wear capes’. The list and variety of work celebrated this evening was incredible and each and every award was so well deserved. Congratulations to all of you from Green Top!

🎄FXP’s Christmas Film Night!!!!🎄

Just a reminder that our new Friends of XP are hosting their first Christmas Film Night for XP & XP East students next Thursday, 7th December 2023!

The votes are in… and the viewing will be (drum roll, please)…..

🎄 HOME ALONE!  🎄

We are in need of chocolate/sweet donations for the sweet stall; plus, please search in your cupboards for any unwanted gifts you may have – we’ll have a stall to sell these on the evening!!!

We will be selling cans of pop, too, so any donations of those would be gratefully received.

As FXP is starting up again, the team have no funds to work with on these events; and so are relying on donations and volunteers to help our events run smoothly.

Let’s make the FXP Film Night a fabulous end to Christmas Day in school!

If you’re able to volunteer some time or donations, please do get in touch with your child’s crew leader, or contact Vic directly.

Donations of gifts/food and drink to be sold can be sent to XP or XPE office.

Funds raised will be put back into supporting things like quality fieldwork in expeditions, so it’s really important work!

We look forward to seeing our students next week – the film begins at XP East stairs at 4pm sharp!!!

Christmas is coming

In year eleven, crews Frank and Rowling came together in the spirit of Christmas to create their kindness calendars. Each year staff and students like to share the cheer and make deposits into peoples calendars. These may be tasty treats or words of kindness, either way the whole point is to bring some light and warmth into these cold days and long dark nights.

Crew Malala Preparing for Passage

Members of Crew Malala have started preparing for the passage presentations in the new year. Passage is where students have the opportunity to show how they have grown and that they are prepared for starting their GCSEs. This morning students reflected on their time at XP East and started preparing what they want to talk about during their Passage presentations.
