Could you help to inspire the next generation of XP and XP East?

We are currently working to create a directory of experts for our upcoming Year 9 Passage Presentations and would appreciate your help!

Passage Presentation is an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning and demonstrate their readiness to move onto the next phase of their education – GCSE.

Students share their high quality work to a panel of experts and their family through an oral presentation, increasing their accountability and character development demonstrating the skills and knowledge they have gained in Key Stage 3.

As part of the presentation students provide insight into their future goals and aspirations and we would like to ensure an authentic expert for each of them at their presentation – this is where you come in!

We are seeking support from any members of our community to become an expert panelist at a Passage Presentation, to listen to the presentation, ask questions and support in directing pathways. In order for this to be a success we request help from members of the public who are able to share their own experiences and advice in order to advance our students to the next level of formal schooling.

If you feel this is something you are interested in, please use this link to sign up to the directory.

Presentations will take place week commencing 27th January 2025 for 3 weeks. You will receive an invite from the student you have been allocated nearer to the time.

Should you have any further questions, please contact a member of our Key Stage 3 Team:

Natalie Johnson- [email protected] (KS3 Lead)

Emma Watson- [email protected] (Phase Lead XPE 8/9)

Chris Morrison- [email protected] (Phase Lead XP 8/9)

We appreciate your support in advance.

E31 FIELDWORK TOMORROW POSTPONED

Good evening all,

Happy New Year!

I hope the festive season has been a restful one for you all.

Unfortunately due to the weather, we have made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s fieldwork. We have liaised with the Cemetery who have informed us that pathways are already starting to become icy. The path in which we would need to take includes some inclines and there are concerns that injury may occur if we take the risk.

We will be in touch once we have met as a team as this fieldwork will still go ahead as it is a vital immersion piece in our new expedition.

We apologise for the late notice, we were hopeful it would have cleared up somewhat however the forecast overnight is not in our favour!

We look forward to kicking off our new expedition in other ways tomorrow morning!

Thanks in advance for your support.

Admissions Arrangements Consultation for 2026/2027

When changes are proposed to admission arrangements, we must consult on our admission arrangements that will apply for admission applications the following school year and at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes.

Our consultation will last for 6 weeks and between Friday 20th December and Friday 31 January.

A Whole New World

Exploring history through immersive learning! From Vikings at Murton Park to Shakespeare’s magic, C31’s Expedition journeyed through the Roman, Medieval, Early Modern & Industrial eras. With hands-on activities, creative writing, and expert insights, they connected past & present in unforgettable ways.

At their Presentation of Learning they recreated a historical timeline for parents and staff and a variety of drama performances as well as student led teaching sessions to demonstrate our learning.

Their knowledge culminated in a piece of narrative writing, independently written by students to reflect the life and experiences of a different person in history. The book is available to purchase here.

Lost Property

Crew Windsor and White are making a final plea for students to visit the drama space at XP East and look through the lost property. There are lost of items waiting to be re-united. Anything left in school on Friday will be donated to the clothes bank.

Crew Spencer/Crew Dufton – Litter pick DOFE

This morning, Crew Spencer and Crew Dufton rolled up their sleeves and took part in a litter-picking session as part of their stewardship responsibilities. The activity not only demonstrated their commitment to caring for their local environment but also contributes towards their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award.

Working together as a team, the students showed great effort and enthusiasm, taking pride in making a visible difference in the area. Stewardship is a core part of our values, and this morning’s activity highlighted the positive impact our Crews can have when they work together for a shared goal.

Well done to everyone involved—this is a fantastic example of leadership, teamwork, and community spirit in action!

Crew Rosa Parkes

Huge well done to all students in Crew Rosa Parkes for their excellent POL. It has been another great term full of lots of praises and fantastic attendance. Keep up the great work, you continue to make crew proud.
