Y11 GCSE: important information

We are finally there – GCSE exam time! All the hard work that’s been put in over the last 5 years will be (formally) tested over the next few weeks.

Some sessions have been collapsed in school to allow for revision sessions prior to GCSE exams taking place. Students will receive details about this each week, but are expected to be in school each day from 8:30-3:15pm.

Morning exams start at 9.30am, afternoon exams at 1.30pm.

Please be aware if students receive extra time, some afternoon exams may run past 3:15pm.

We will send out weekly schedules for you to pair with the exam timetables you have already. On these weekly schedules you will find revision sessions (in school), exam times, dates and length, and revision sessions taking place outside of school.

Meanwhile, please see the calendar below for an overview of exam dates and half term revision sessions.

There will be sessions taking place during the half term in May, too – there will be sessions available Tuesday 30th May, Wednesday 31st May, Thursday 1st June and Friday 2nd June.  These are highlighted on the attached calendar and further information will be communicated to students.

Please also note that we will be providing breakfast club for Y11 students throughout the exam window, starting from Tuesday 16th May, 8am-8.20am.

Thanks for your support,
Angella & Mel

EL #BetterWorldDay 2023!

It’s @ELeducation‘s #BetterWorldDay! Here’s a beautiful example of how the community at Plover School are stepping up and doing their bit to make the world a better place with their Plover Pantry food bank.

Year 7 students at XP Gateshead carried out a day of fundraising! Working together in Crews, our students carried 5 litre bottles of water around as many laps of the 400m track as they could…

Be sure to follow #BetterWorldDay on Twitter to see schools around the world sharing their stories!

Charity Tuck Shop

C27 have been raising money as part of their final product by hosting a tuck shop on Friday break times. This week is our final push and we have LOTS for sale including crisps, biscuits, sausage rolls, toast etc. Alongside this we have the “sponge a teacher event” where students will be able to throw sponges at teachers during lunch!

The money raised is for St Johns Hospice, a local palliative care hospital which is very dear to our hearts at XP. So please bring in a £1 or 2 to support the cause!

KS3 Rugby Training

Tonight we have an open training session for any Y7 or Y8 boys for the new rugby team that will be taking part in the upcoming Rugby 7’s Festival at Campsmount

Anyone is welcome with any experience. Students to meet at the changing rooms at 3:15 and the session will end at 4:30

Any questions please contact Mr Stables [email protected]

Upcoming POL props

Year 9 are planing for POL and are requesting and empty glass bottles of any nature, if you have any available could you please wash and send them to reception.

Thanks in advance
