XP East

Autumn has played for Doncaster Belles grassroots team for 2 seasons at their player development centre. Autumn was selected to play for JPL before Christmas and has now moved into their emerging talent centre. Whilst playing in defence she scored from the halfway line. She also is still playing on a Sunday for her Club Thorne team and is currently the only female player in league one  mixed grassroots team and having an amazing season! 

We are extremely proud of Autumn’s hard work and dedication. What a fantastic role model for our school.

Fortunately, the weather is on our side this week, meaning fieldwork to Hyde Park Cemetery for E31 is back on!

We will be leaving school and heading to the cemetery by foot after Crew. We will return to school in time for lunch, so students will leave at normal time.

Please can you ensure that your child arrives to school wearing appropriate footwear and wearing a coat. We will be outside for the entirety of our visit and it is important students stay warm!

This fieldwork is in support of our Expedition 7.2 Dig Deep.

We appreciate your support in working with us through the many changes we have faced due to adverse weather.

We are writing to inform you of a change to the date for the Presentation of Learning (POL) for the Expedition titled “Raiders and Invaders.”

This important event will now take place on 

Date: Monday, 13th January

Location: XP EAST School.

Timings: XPE Students 4pm – 4.45pm / XP Students 5.15pm – 6pm 

Attendance at the Presentation of Learning is compulsory for all students, as it forms a core part of what we do at XP School. If a student is unable to attend on the day, it is our expectation that they will still complete their POL at a later date, which will be delivered in front of an audience.

We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that your child attends this important event, as it is an opportunity for them to showcase their hard work and learning to an audience of their peers, staff, and parents/carers.

Further details regarding the timing and location of the event will be shared with you soon. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you on the day.

Crew White Explores Democracy with Room 101

During Wise Wednesday, Crew White learned about democracy—a system where everyone has a say in decisions. We discussed how democracy ensures fairness and equality and imagined what life might be like without it: decisions could become unfair, and some voices might go unheard.

To bring this idea to life, we held a Room 101 activity. Two Crew members each presented a pet peeve. They made their case, and the rest of the Crew asked questions and debated before casting their votes.

Through this activity, we practiced the principles of democracy: persuasion, equal voice, and majority rule. It was a fun way to learn how fairness and collaboration shape the decisions that affect us all.
