Crew Rashford – Spanish HoWLs

Crew Rashford have been working hard on recognising areas of improvement in Spanish this week.

They took the opportunity to evaluate their own HoWLs from the last session, critique and feedback to others respectfully and with kindness.

Here is a snapshot of their last session.

From this we would like to see improvement for next week and where we are doing really well maintaining that level of engagement and learning.

They also have the opportunity to make pledges to support their learning. We will be discussing this further and holding each other accountable to them.

Our class average is ok and I feel that there is definitely room for improvement for most of crew. As ever, I am always here to support anyone should they need it as is Mr Pearson.

Y6 transitioning into Y7 (C29) August 2022

We are delighted to have received our admissions lists for August 2022. As we begin to work through this, we will contact parents of students who have been successful and work with current schools to ensure we have lots of information to enable the students transition to XP to be as successful as possible.

We look forwards to working with you over the coming months.

E28 Fieldwork – Friday 4th March 2022

On Friday 4th March E28 staff are taking E28 students to Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire on Fieldwork to go to their World War one trench.

Students will be leaving school at 9am and will be returning before the end of school at 3.15 (traffic allowing).

Students will need to bring a packed lunch, a drink, two bin liners (to sit on in the trench) and their pencil case.

Students will need to wear warm clothes (lots of layers) as we will be spending a lot of time outside.  It is also wise for them not to wear their best trainers as we will be walking on paths and in bits of woodland.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on [email protected]

Cheerleading

The cheerleading competition on Wednesday 2nd March will be completed earlier. We will be back at school for 4.15. We will get the students to contact you when we set off from the school.

Any questions please email [email protected]

Imperial War Museum Fieldwork!

What a day we had at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester! C27 represented our school perfectly showing our character traits throughout!

A member of staff who worked at the museum said “we have many schools coming here on self led tours, they are often running around and not invested, it is amazing to see these students taking pictures and making notes and being so interested and well mannered”.

Before we left the museum we circled up and had some appreciations to share and EVERY student contributed an appreciation for someone in their group for demonstrating a character trait or HoWL! Amazing!

The students took loads of pictures and collected loads of information to help them in their final product and have used it in sessions already! They have used the images and information from fieldwork to create “mood boards” of ideas for their upcoming product – keep your eyes peeled!

Well done C27 – Can not wait to take you out again!

Crew Marx getting creative!

E27 had a great first week back immersing themselves back into their expedition DO YOUR BIT after a lovely half term! We visited the Imperial War Museum on Wednesday and used our crew time Friday afternoon to get creative!

We used some modelling clay to create some WW1 artefacts and we loved it! You can see pictured some of the creations including Alfies gun, Kiahna’s gas mask and Cameron’s grenade!

Great work guys!

We want to hear from you!

My name is Kathryn Burns and I am Careers Lead at both schools. Please click on the link to check out all that is Careers at XP East. The people most students take advice from are parents / grandparents and carers so it’s important that you know how best to support them in making their choices in their next steps on their academic journey. Please encourage them to access these resources in the run up to summer exams.
