Forward thinking!

Over the past few weeks Crew have been thinking carefully about what they may like to do after their time at XP East. They have spent time researching different forms of education that are offered post 16. Many have looked into A-levels, apprenticeships, T-levels and BTEC options. This is all to support their next chapter at XP East when going on to year 10 and then 11. Some even revisited and added to their previous research on careers they may want to pursue. 

Crew Rowling also did a spot of litter picking during one of our afternoon sessions. It was great to see them working together as a team while looking after our environment and getting some fresh air!

We will update you more on the next steps towards GCSE’s in the coming weeks.

Year 8 HPV vaccinations, boys and girls.

Friday 17th June 2022. All students in current Year 8 will be able to have the HPV Vaccination from the RDASH NHS Nurses arriving in school. Consent links have been sent to all parents via email. Parents need to click the link and send asap consenting or not consenting for the HPV vaccination. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/hpv-human-papillomavirus-vaccine/ If there are any issues with not receiving the link from school, then please contact your child’s Crew Leader to resend the HPV Link or [email protected]

Y10 Football Game Cancelled

Unfortunately after discussions with the other school involved in tonight’s match in the Y10 Doncaster schools football league, we have cancelled the game.

The fixture has been rearranged for next Wednesday, 18th of May to be played at XP.

Team sheets will be posted on the notice board on Friday,

Reminder- Extra curricular clubs

This coming week we are running two fantastic clubs for our students to take part in!

These clubs are for both experienced players and newcomers who just want to try these sports for the first time.

Cricket- Mondays- 3:30 till 4:30

Rounders- Wednesdays- 3:30 till 4:30

Students are to meet at the changing rooms with full kit.

After great recent results we are coming to the business end of the school football fixtures:

The week commencing the 9th of May we have Y7, Y8 and Y10 matches in an exciting week for XP sport.

Tuesday 10th May- Y8 away Vs Astrea Academy     

Wednesday 11th – Y7 away Vs Don Valley Academy 

                               Y10 at home Vs Don Valley Academy 

Teams sheets are out on the PE notice board now, please tick your name if available.

Students are to meet at the changing rooms at 3:15

Home teams (Y10) to be picked up at XP at 5:00pm

Away teams (Y7&8) to be picked up at XP at 5:00pm

Leaping into the future

On Tuesday 3rd May students from BTEC Sport got the opportunity to visit Loughborough University. We took part in some coaching sessions in the morning ran by the staff and students at the University. In the afternoon we had a walk around campus and were able to ask questions about student life at the University.

Students were fantastic and it was great to see them embracing the day.
