E27 Presentation of Learning & D of E Information Evening

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are delighted to invite you to E27’s presentation of learning on Tuesday, 9th May 2023 at 4:30 pm. The presentation will showcase what the students have learned during their expedition titled ‘You Give Me Fever’, which explored different historical periods and how they dealt with diseases and epidemics.
You will have the chance to experience and learn about life in the time periods that the students have studied and the diseases that ravaged the periods, such as the Black Death, the Spanish Flu, and Cholera.
This PoL will also serve as an information evening for the students’ Duke of Edinburgh expedition in June, where they will apply their skills and knowledge gained so far this year in an outdoor setting. In order to not miss any key information on this, do not miss this PoL.
The presentation will last for about an hour. We look forward to seeing you and celebrating the students’ achievements.
Yours sincerely,
E27 Crew

Crew Turing’s Time at the Spa!

For the past week, Crew Turing have focused on personal wellbeing – we’ve been exploring how to make sure we practice some self-care during the stressful GCSE exams that are coming up!

One way we chose to de-stress as a crew was by running a ‘spa morning’. We kept some humour in it, though, by choosing funny face masks! We also welcomed Jay into crew who will join us for this week!

Lewis seemed to really enjoy the cucumber slices… and I’ve never heard a better “disgusting” than when Dylan put his hands in the moisturising gloves! A big thanks to Mrs Parker for providing smoothies, too!

What a lovely crew morning!

Sporting achievement

Huge well done to Mollie Butler at XP East. Mollie plays for York U16’s hockey team. Her team played in U16’s national final at the weekend. Unfortunately they were runners up but still it was a great achievement.

What a great achievement Mollie we are very proud of you! Here she is making some great saves for her team.
