Courtesy of The Frenchgate Centre, our Christmas Tree was delivered today. This wonderful donation of a magnificent real tree also serves a special purpose, as it will be the collection point for gifts for the Food Bank for children.
The Trussell Trust Foodbank, based at Christchurch in the centre of Doncaster, has been doing amazing work for a number of years now. As Christmas approaches being able to add a gift or gifts to the food bag for children is a terrific thing to be able to do.
All the retailers in the Frenchgate Centre have been invited by the Centre management to take part in this XP Tree project too.
Many thanks to the Frenchgate Centre for their generosity and the Trussell Trust for all they do every day of the year.
To help decorate our amazing tree we would like to ask all our year 7 students and those students who are new to us this year to bring in a bauble for Friday (1st December) when the DofE Gardening Club will decorate the tree. Please could baubles/decorations be handed to the student’s crew leader by Friday morning.
Also, we are collecting presents for children up to the age of 18 to donate to the Trussel Trust Foodbank so if you would like to donate please drop any unwrapped presents in at the school reception or send in with your child who can place it under our tree.
Present ideas are selection boxes for all ages, toiletry sets, deodorants, soaps, shower gels, socks and stationery (pens, pencils, cute notebooks, etc).
They need to be brought in unwrapped too so we can wrap and label age wise. Students will be helping us do this. Deadline for us receiving presents in school is the 15th December.
