Hello,
Students should be coming home with a letter today which informs you about Accelerated Reader. For those parents of C25/Y7 students that are new to Accelerated Reader, it is a proven and sharply focused reading program which aims to accelerate reading progress. From next week, students in C25/Y7 will be asked to select their first Accelerated Reader book and then they will be free to start quizzing on the program.
Studies show that students who achieve in the top 10% read for 40 minutes or more per day.
With this in mind, we would like to reinforce the expectation that all of our students should be reading outside of the classroom for approx. 20minutes per evening.
The letter also includes a parental login with will enable you, as a parent, to access information about your child’s engagement with the program. For parents that are already familiar with the program in year group E24, I have reissued all of your parental logins with the letter for your convenience.
