Y11/C25: What’s on our plate w/b 17th April

We’ve kicked off the new term with Y11 students heading straight into their Art exam. Next week, Spanish students have their Speaking exam, and we then begin the final countdown to the full GCSE exam window.

We are going to keep you up to date with all our important information/reminders/messages leading up to the exams by publishing our weekly ‘what’s on our plate’ (WOOP) briefing. This is shared with students during Monday’s Crew session.

Extra curricular sport today

There is no after school football today,

Cheerleading is on in the sports hall, all welcome meet at the changing rooms at 3:15

A full enrichment timetable will go out on the blog this week,

GCSE RE and Ethics / Spanish year 8 parents meeting

On the 26th of April at 4.30pm we will be holding a parents evening for parents to explain the changes in your child’s curriculum which will happen in year 9.
Towards the end of this term we will be splitting the students into two groups. One of these groups will continue with Spanish and complete a GCSE in year 11. The other group will begin a GCSE in RE and Ethics.
This evening will discuss both choices and the content within them. We will also explain how students are separated into the groups and how they will be taught.
We would encourage attendance of all parents so that you have a full understanding of the process and enable you to support your child with this.

Many thanks

Polly and Nicola.

Passage

We have been working really really hard on passage presentations, working together and independently to ensure they are spot on!

Parents – Look out first week back for an invite to the presentations  – I look forward to see you all soon.

C29 XPD Outdoors – Lakeside Walk

XP Outdoors took full advantage of the sunshine on Monday. We headed out in our classes and embarked on a little adventure to Lakeside – one of our favourite spots.

Students paired and shared creative sorties, interpretive dance and songs.

This is an awesome opportunity to develop confidence and learn new interesting things about ourselves.

We took the opportunity to also incorporate a little bit of fun!

Here are Hill Rolling  – even Mrs Watson had a roll down the hill! 😵‍💫

I look forward to seeing you in next term for more outdoors learning and crew building activities.

a little thing means a lot!

I really want to appreciate Callum in E25 Year 11 for tidying up the pile of trays this lunchtime. He spotted that others had left their trays in a heap and sorted it out without any fuss. It’s the little things, such as random acts of kindness like this, that mean a lot!
