What a Way to Kick Off Year 11!

What a fantastic first day back for C29!

It was lovely to start the first day of our final year with a walk around Langsett Reservoir, taking in the stunning views and enjoying some time together in the great outdoors.

The walk was also a chance to reminisce about their very first day with us back in Year 7, when they set off on their first Outward Bound walk in Wales. Looking back, we’re not quite sure where the time has gone. It feels like we blinked, and suddenly their school journey is almost over!

It was wonderful to see everyone return after the summer well rested, refreshed and raring to tackle Year 11. There was plenty of catching up between friends, lots of laughter and, of course, plenty of opportunities to show what being a crew is all about. As tired legs started to kick in, students supported and encouraged one another, making sure everyone kept going.

Most importantly, it was fantastic to see the students enjoying themselves, spending time together and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

What a way to begin the school year – and what a way to start their final year with us. Here’s to a brilliant Year 11!

Celebrating the C28 Crews on GCSE Results Day!

We are so incredibly proud of the C28 cohorts across our Doncaster campus who have received their GCSE results today.

From day one, these students have shown what it means to be Crew, not passengers.

The five-year journey of the C28 cohort reflects a profound commitment to our Three-Dimensional approach, driven by an unwavering culture of Crew and collective resilience. We are so proud of the results of our students. We have seen lots of happy faces this morning. We are delighted to share that our results continue to improve and celebrate those students who have smashed their grades! There are so many individual successes – with students who attended learning labs and D6 achieving well above the predictions made at the beginning of the year.

At XP, we ensure our students achieve rigorous academic success, and we know that exam results are only one dimension of a person’s incredible journey.

Through our Expeditionary curriculum, C28 have not only engaged with powerful knowledge, but they have actively used it to produce beautiful work that makes a positive difference in their community. From their fieldwork experiences to their authentic final products across Doncaster, they have consistently demonstrated our Character Traits. It takes immense Courage to step outside of comfort zones to deepen learning, just as it requires relentless Craftsmanship and Quality to undergo multiple drafts of work, refusing to settle for less. Throughout it all, they have anchored their journey in Respect, Integrity, and Compassion for themselves, their Crew, and the wider world.

At XP, we believe:

Academic success + character growth + beautiful work = the best version of you.

X28 leave us today with the qualifications they need to open doors, but more importantly, with the skills, values, and confidence to thrive beyond school. We know they will use their education to become positive agents for social change and stewards of their culture and community.

A huge thank you goes to our dedicated staff, our families, and the wider Doncaster community for supporting our students throughout their journey. And to C28 you will always be part of Crew. We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

GCSE RESULTS DAY C28 20th August

The wait is almost over: GCSE results will be available for collection from XP School on Thursday 20th August between the hours of 9.00am-11.30am.

Please read the following information about the collection process:

  • Entry and Exit will be by the usual student entrance at car park 3. (please register your number plate if needed)
  • Each Crew will have a designated area within the heart of XP school (all students of XP and XPE will collect their results at XP School).
  • A dedicated adult will have the results for each crew.
  • Students will have the opportunity to wait on the stairs whilst waiting for a space with their crew leader.
  • Students can open their results envelope with their crew leader or leave school to open them.
  • If students want to speak to Crew Leaders/staff after they have received their results they will need to wait on the stairs until a space is available.
  • Students will need to complete a destinations form before leaving school – this can be online or a paper copy. Staff will be available to discuss next steps, if required.
  • If students are not able to come to collect their results they must email Miss Cocliff ([email protected]) from their email account and request their results be sent to them.  Results will be emailed to their school account.
  • If students have any concerns about their exam results they must email Miss Cocliff or their crew leader in the first instance outlining their concerns so that advice can be given as to where to log results.
  • Official GCSE certificates arrive in School late October and students will be invited to a presentation evening in November to receive their certificates.

We are really looking forward to seeing you all on the 20th, and we can’t wait to see the results of your hard work. Please remember that – as important as your exam results are – they are just a small part of your XP/XPE journey. We are all super proud of the young people you’ve grown up to be, regardless of what’s in the envelope.
